IPL Photofacial

A non-invasive treatment using high-intensity pulses of light to improve the color and texture of skin in order to eliminate age spots and sun damage.

What is it?

If you're troubled by age spots and sun damage, IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, could offer the solution you've been seeking. IPL (also referred to as Photofacial and BroadBand Light (BBL), employs a specific light wavelength to delicately and accurately treat beneath the skin's surface. It aims to boost collagen production while addressing undesired brown spots, redness and rosacea, enhancing the overall skin tone and texture.

What to expect

An IPL treatment generally takes anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. During the process, patients may experience a gentle warming sensation on the skin and minor discomfort. Following the treatment, it is common for the skin to show signs of redness and mild swelling. In subsequent days, any dark patches on the skin may appear more pronounced but typically flake off within a week.

Patients should anticipate undergoing a series of IPL treatments to achieve the desired outcomes.

Book a consultation at one of our medical providers at Dermatologists of Greater Columbus with convenient ofice locations in Dublin, Columbus, Canal Winchester, Urbana, Circleville, Washington Courthouse, Grove City, and Marysville, Ohio to determine if IPL is the ideal treatment for you.
